1986 Res 4A Anafiotika and the chapel of Ayios Simeon

Migrant Anafiots in Athens celebrated the festival of the Birth of the Virgin (Panayia Kalamiotissa) at the chapel of Ayios Simeon in Anafiotika, where an ikon of the island patron saint had been placed in 1847.  I gave a paper about Anafiotika at a Modern Greek Studies Conference in 1995. It is unpublished but can be downloaded here and also found on the academia.edu website.
